This past Saturday ISKCON Toronto celebrated the Appearance Day of Lord Balarama. The Festivities were kicked off with Gaura Arati led by some of the Temple’s Youth. Following Arati was a class about Lord Balarama given by HG Kratu Das. This was followed by a Mrdanga Demonstration by the Youth. For the next part of the program two large screens were suspended at the back of the temple room for a special multimedia presentation about Lord Balarama entitled "Destroying Our Anarthas". The temple room was decorated with a diorama depicting the pastime of Lord Balarama diverting the Yamuna. Additionally as it was the last day of Jhulan Yatra the congregation was given the opportunity to swinging the visiting deities of Radha Govindaji. The evening's festivities were rounded off by an ecstatic Sandhya Arati and a sumptuous prasadam feast that was cooked by the youth.

These celebrations have put everyone in the festive mood for the upcoming Krishna Janamashtmi Festival! Grand preparations are underway for the Janamashtmi program that will be held on Sunday, August 24th, stay tuned for details!
