Calendar Clarification

5:40:00 PM By Vijay Teli

There has been some confusion regarding the 2013 ISKCON Toronto Vaishnava Calendar. Saphala Ekadashi is on January 7th, however for Toronto fasting is observed on Maha Dvadasi - January 8th.

Ekadashi is a bi-monthly observance where followers of Vaishnava traditions abstain from grains, the observance is based on the lunar calendar and occasionally Ekadashi will fall over two days, in these instances fasting is observed on dvadasi.

Sorry for any confusion. If you haven't collected your calendar please stop by the Temple and pick one up!
