Festival Report- Shiva Ratri

11:30:00 PM By Smruthi Venkateshan

On Sunday, March 13th, Toronto's Hare Krishna Temple celebrated Shiva Rati. Shiva Rati is a night of celebrations that are dedicated to Lord Shiva who is the top most devotee of Lord Krishna.

The night started out with an arati ceremony for their Lordships Sri Sri Radha Ksira-Chora Gopinatha, who were as radiant as spring sunshine. Then devotees gathered for lecture and shared enchanting pastimes of Lord Shiva. One of the senior devotees Rupangu Prabhu enlightened devotees with a clear explanation of the beautiful relationship between Lord Shiva and Lord Sri Krishna.

After filling up their souls with transcendental information, devotees were treated to a scrumptious feast. The night finished with an aarti ceremony where devotees sang melodic harmony.
